Ohhhh Audrey…
Ready for a new girl crush? Meet Audrey Rogers, writer of the Frassy Blog. A Teen Vogue Blogger of the Moment, Audrey is a a Brit studying Literature in Spain with KILLER fashion sense who plans on starting her own magazine when she graduates…give me a break, I wish she lived in California.

Name: Audrey Leighton Rogers Age: 20
Location: Durham, UK / Valencia, Spain
1. Where does the name befrassy or frassy come from? The word “Frassy” comes from a Mickey Avalon song I used listen to obsessively. He refers to a “Sassy Little Frassy”, I was never sure what he meant but the word stuck in my head until I finally decided to use it as my Blog Name. I really enjoy how it sounds like a real word, but is actually made up- also, it could be a noun or an adjective: I love ambiguity.
2. How long have you been writing your blog, is it your sole source of income? I have been blogging since 2007. As a University student and a freelance fashion journalist, my blog is probably the most lucrative of my endeavours- as well as my online store Frassy Rags. I wish people would pay me for my writing…one day, one day!
3. How would you describe your personal style? What inspires your wardrobe right now? I would describe my style as Vintage-Bohemian Twist. I very rarely buy new clothes, I much prefer quirky one-offs from vintage shops and thrift stores. As for inspiration, primarily the internet: I love lookbook.nu: all the members have great sartorial ideas that I always feed off. Fellow bloggers motivate me to be more adventurous with my attire- and not to mention, whenever I click onto Spanish Moss Vintage, even if I don’t always purchase something, I always find some wonderfully eccentric outfit that sends light-bulbs flickering off in my style-soaked mind.
4. Who is your style icon? Edie Sedgwick. She wore bizarre clothes for her time: all the leggings and fur: two fashion staples I cannot live without! Also, I am forever attracted to her estatic demeanour and crazy life style, it was all very decadently wild: even when she wore a simple leotard and tights, her personality lit the whole outfit up into something strangely remarkable.

5. Describe your perfect day. Reasonably late-rise at 10am. Tea & Magazines at Les Deux Magots on Saint Germain in Paris. Hitting all the grungiest markets on the outskirts of town for some truly crazy fashion finds. Japanese food for Lunch. Walk & Photography along the Seine in the afternoon, accompanied by some light cocktails. An hour of running followed by a wine-infused dinner and wild night out with all my lovely friends.

6. Favorite quote? I absolutely adore quotes, I have notebooks full of them. But one I try to always keep in mind is, “We live life forewards but understand it backwards”. Wise words by Kierkegaard

7. If we were going to come visit where you live, what would recommend for us to do and see? I live in a very picturesque, historical University town: the Cathedral and Castle form a World Heritage Site, so I would recommend a visit up there, followed by the best ever chocolate cake in the Cathedral cafe!

8. If you could be anyone in history living or dead who would you be? Oohhh this is hard one. I think I might be Diana Vreeland, former and probably most influential Vogue editor-in-chief ever ! I adore that woman! Or Marc Jacob’s: that guy is wonderfully crazy, I would like to think through his mind!

9. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? After I graduate, I want to open my own magazine. So I hope to be doing that successfully and profitably.
Hopefully I will be accompanied by a great team of employees, a house in South Kensington, London and a string of advertisers to fund my magazine
(and not to mention, my one-day HUGE walk-in closet!)
10. If you were only allowed to wear one piece of clothing ( outfit) from your wardrobe for the rest of your life what would it be? My most favourite Black Dress from Topshop. It fits my figure perfectly, its tight but not uncomfortable and is one of the most versatile pieces I own. I could then accessorize differently everyday to avoid tedium. I hate wearing the exact same thing twice. I have too many clothes and life is just too short for exact repeats!

11. If you were a city, what city would you be and why? London, because its incredibly quirky: neighbourhoods like Soho/Camden and Knightsbridge/Mayfair are completely contrasting yet they co-exist beautifully. I have a hugely contrasting personality: I am full of conflicts and contradictions that are incredibly antithetical yet seem to work for me.
Additonally the London fashion-scene is hugely influential to the city; needless to say, my life is pretty sartorial-centered.

12. What was your childhood dream? I always wanted to be a teacher. I guess that was because I have always been such a book-worm and a secret-dork.
13. Best read? Books are my second passion (after Fashion) and as a Literature major, this is an impossible question ! I have dozens of favourite books! But one of my all time favourites is The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. I find Esther, the protagonist, incredibly inspiring but also hugely fascinating; everytime I re-read the novel, I find myself discovering new facets to her personality. Besides it is very much a feminist text and I am very much interested in feminism.

14. Favorite movie? Factory Girl with Sienna Miller playing Edie Sedgwick. I adore the Warhol 60s. Or Breakfast at Tiffany’s: Holly GoLightly always cheers me up.

15. Your hair is fantastic, any beauty recommendations? Never dye your hair: I went through a dying addiction , from black to light blonde and back again! About a year ago, I realised the damage it was doing, so I completely stopped and finally: my locks are healthy again. So yeah, never dye your hair, use a conditioning mask once a week and always wash your face before you go to bed!
