Lookbook.nu
Creator of the overnight phenomenon lookbook.nu ( my current addiction) Yuri Lee is one of the coolest girls we know, so we decided to interview her…

1. How long has lookbook.nu been around and how did the site begin?
It’s been around since around April 2008. My boyfriend and I started lookbook.nu together in our small apartment in San Francisco. We combined both our passions, mine being fashion and his programming, to create a site that would gather the best looks and styles from around the world to create a virtual lookbook.nu of real fashion from real people.
2. Was it difficult to promote at first? It seems to have become a worldwide phenomenon overnight!
I’m not going to lie. There was a lot of sweat and blood that went into promoting our site. We reached out to people we truly admired on
the fashion and blogger scene and there was a wonderful response to what we were doing. Of course now spreading the word is a lot easier!
3. How would you describe your own personal look?
My own look changes a lot! It’s hard to say I’m into one genre or another, but it’s really what I’m feeling. Some days I prefer all black, and on other days, I want to wear floral and go on a picnic!
4. Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Southern California (Orange County). I actually met my boyfriend in college in Southern CA as well!
5. Who/What inspires you?
My family is definitely a great inspiration to me. Also my boyfriend is very supportive of everything I do!
6. Favorite book and film of all time?
My favorite book is Pride and Prejudice and I have too many favorite movies to name one.

7. Favorite style icons?
Gemma Ward is fantastic!

8. If you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would
it be?
My black Y’s skirt I just got on a trip to New York and a loose fitting shirt. So comfy!

9. If you could be anyone else in world whether living or dead, who would
you be?
I would love to be Ella Fitzgerald for her amazing voice!

10. What are you addicted to?
I’m addicted to my laptop and candy.
11. Favorite city of all time?
San Francisco of course! The city is so diverse – but it could use a better night life!

12. Favorite decade?
The 60’s! Free love!
13. What is your favorite SMV piece?
I love this floral dress! It’s cute, sexy, and a fantastic price!

S
